Did Google Really Slap Me ???

Hi,

I'm in a situation difficult to understand, thanks to Google. One of my micro websites ranked #2 for a long time and until yesterday. Today when I woke up, it was gone to page 6. And not only mine, but other competitor micro sites on page 1 are all over page 6 and 7 now, like all of us get slapped. And why are we all getting slapped, I know this happens but not like every single competitor on the first page, at the same time!

Is this a manual review? If it is, why didnt they just deindex the sites if they think they are not good? If it is an auto penalty, what can i do to get out of it? I haven't been backlinking the domain heavily lately, only getting very high PR links from authority web sites just to hold on to my position at #2.

What are your ideas?

Don't panic, build links , add content and keep it consistent for a few weeks and you'll slap yourself back.

Did these sites have adsense on them?

A similar thing happened to me a couple of months ago and the common denominator was adsense. I had ads all from the same account on each one of them. They weren't the greatest sites around for size or content, but had been ranking well for several years. One day - all back on page 5 and 6. And this was before Panda.
Some mentioned to me a "-50" penelty. IDK what that is all about. I pulled the adsense off, sat a bit, added different content to each, slowly built links and several started coming back. But none have gotten back to the good old days.

It is only one of my sites and yes, it had adsense. But I don't believe it is about adsense. If it was only my website then I could think so. But, how and why did they get us all out from the first page. It really doesn't make any sense...

And waiting a few weeks seems so long at this moment.. I hate this...

Before you even rush, have you checked if all of your backlinks are in place? Are they even ranking for their own keywords any longer? It just might not be that you've been slapped, could be that the value of your links has "vanished".

But on a second thought, you mentioned that all your competitors have been bounced too, so it does make sense to be a manual review. I have notice a similar thing on some niches where I am into, and I quiet often see the first page ranking sites change, over and over again. I just added more content to my site, kept on with link building on a regular basis..and eventually the site came back (slightly lower to where it was).

It is a frustrating feeling however..

I have same situation, my two year old Micro niche site down for 1 month. I had #3 position.

Slap Google back, start backlinking to Google with porn links and swear words.

from my 2 cents it pays off more to just create new sites. your sites have been devalued by google. why should they sandbox a site ? they just devalue it no matter how many backlinks you built now, they will not be worth much cos your site itself is devalued.

Chances are an algorithm update that factored into your related niches, especially if it was "widespread" and not just your site bouncing but others as well.

Either way though, build more content, build better content and most of all build backlinks.

An algorithm update makes sense, I guess. Thank you!

it happen to me too since last week. my domain is year old and its been rankin in the last 6 mnths for highly searh keywords then suddenly it jumped from 1st page to 30th +.

I have no adsense. all i did was start adding more content. So maybe its dancing my site off and on.

Probally the best thing is to keep backlinking. sometime will come back.

I have a second site for the same niche on blogger and it kept its rankings but my domain started dancing once having more content.

Yes, I will keep building links, hopefully I'll get my spot back...
