Did following private users just F me up?

I'm trying to build up a personal brand for myself, on my personal account I mass followed over the week and hit 5.9k "following"

I get a message now that I maxed out, last time I checked you max out after 7k/7.5k right?

I can only assume its because I followed private profiles so if they leave my request hanging I'm stuck?

Is there a way around this -_-

Did you follow using a bot or manually? Sounds like you have inadvertently followed private users, which also counts as an action but doesn't display in your "Following" numbering.

If they accept, they'll appear in your following list and you'll be able to unfollow them as usual.

From what I've read around the forum, if they don't accept your following, the request should expire in around 30 calendar days.

A tip I would give would be to use an automation tool like FollowLiker, which can filter out private users and make sure you don't follow them.
 
no way around, if the private users do not react in 30 days the request will be removed.
 
I have followerliker but I decided to use the crowdfire app and use there "copy followers" tool manually.

30 days isn't bad though I read it was permanent if they don't accept/reject.

Yep that's why when you want to grow an account with bots you should never enable "Follow private users" :)
 
Are you guys 100% positive on the 30 days or just speculating?
 
I think the 30 days may just be speculating. I would just start unfollowing the ones you've followed, next time only follow public accounts, its not the end of the world

Can someone confirm if the 30 day rule is true or not? I am testing private users and although the follow back ratio is pretty shit compared to the public profiles it seems they are more engaging with the posts.

I want to make sure it is 30 days otherwise I'm going to really mess up my personal profile here...

From my experience, that's bullshit.
 
Today I can confirm that pending request expire and 30 days seem to be accurate.
 
Eventually the pending requests disappear, given that they are inactive...
Actually, even if they are active, it might just disappear within time if they don't accept or deny.
Not exactly sure that it's 30 days though, that seems to be a speculation number that few people have come up with
 
Well, I have a personal account where I'm kinda keeping all those requests from users pending, it's been over 2-3 months on some and they haven't disappeared from my list. I don't know if their spot got free tho, but I can still accept/decline their request.

I must add that I'm active on that account so that might indeed have an influence.
