Company i work for has anti piracy policy, so we purchase every softwares license we intend to use. I think most of big firms have that license, although on my personal pc i torrent 24 7.

Why do you need to pay for something if you have the alternative which is free of charge? I use 7zip which has the same functionality and absolutely free.

If your question is suggesting those people are stupid then it's important to remember that a lot of people like to respect the work of the developers by contributing. If they can afford it that's great.
