Many of you should be aware that Google hires people to actually conduct searches, and then rate the websites that appear for the search term. The general consensus is that if your site is rated poorly by a "Reviewer", you will see your rankings for that term drop considerably, the same vice versa. It's also important to note that they don't just have a single "Reviewer" visit your site for that search term, but multiple.
How can you tell? Well, one way is by checking your referring traffic for the following URL:

This is how the full URL should appear within your GA:
I had to blur identifying information, but these were visits to one of my websites on May 12, May 13, and May 18. As you can see, the URLs are labeled as "assignments".
These last visits coincide with the broad update we just had earlier this month, so there is a good chance that some of you here might have also received a visit.
