Diagnose my site?

OK, just bought this puppy on Flippa a few days ago (my first ever purchase).

I've not got a lot invested in it from an SEO perspective (several links and a YouTube video). I'm totally new to the idea of generating $ via leads/bookings, so I would love some advice from those who know what works and what doesn't....whether from a marketing, design, etc., point of view.

Someone PM'ed me that setting up a blog, posting interviews and photos of hotels in my city (Singapore) might be a good idea. The site is running on WP now, and I'm not sure if I should do a blog as a subdomain or what.

I'm using hotelscombined as an affiliate for hotels and dohop as flight affiliate...these were already baked into the site when I bought it on Flippa. I made $1.30 yesterday, which was nice to see, but I want to make oh-so-much-more.

I'd be happy to consider Fiverr gigs that may be worthwhile. Also, please feel free to click through to a booking page. ;-) It is actually a pretty robust site.

I took a Ready-Fire-Aim approach to buying the site, irate: so I'm open to suggestions...trust me, I need all the help I can get. Also, thanks to everyone at BHW for already teaching me so much...though I'm a noob, please let me know if I can help you in any way. FWIW, I'm happy to give thanks/rep for good answers.

Good looking site! The the top url link does look too fuzzy though.

Site looks pretty good. Logo is shit. Just being honest haha.

Run a contest at dp and for like 20 bucks you can get a good looking logo / site name made up Work on the site itself to increase conversion rate and then promote.


Oh and learn about onsite seo fast. You have to make you title prettier aswell.

"cheap-hotels-comparison.com | Compare Cheap Hotels Prices" is pretty crap looking. Remember this is what people see in listings and what is shown at the top of most browsers.

I would suggest a simple change being....

"Cheap Hotels Comparison | Compare Cheap Hotels Prices | Cheap-Hotels-Comparison.com"



Will just help the indomain keyword a bit. Noone searches for the domain itself so leave that last.

Site is pretty cool, but dude the logo is killing me

Argh...still fiddling with the site. Made $16 so far. Probably need to make new logo transparent, but I'm at work and don't have photoshop here so i'm just trying to get it sized properly. Anyway...so far the comments have been helpful, and often funny.
Athleted, that's what sucks about being a noob like me...too many lessons learned the hard way!

Hi Naresh, analyse with what tool? I use several...I'm targeting certain keywords, but need to build pages around those first. If you want 'analyse' it, you can, and then pm me the results, but it isn't the kind of thing I'd pay for. ;-)

OK...I've updated it with the new logo...any feedback? I'm wondering about the color scheme. I haven't figured out how to make the words in the header, to the right of the logo, bigger/bolder.

The logo looks OK now, it still gives the feeling of an amateur logo though.

If you are using this site to look like a legit site I'd invest in the logo.
