me: why are the shipping costs to The *herlands (holland) so expensive? i thought it was free shipping..?

He has good feedback but how do i know if the feedback is legit? maybe he and his chinese friends add feedback to the seller account?
 
if he has a shitload of feedback go read it
look for feedback that looks like it was written by people with english as there first language.
if he doesnt have a shitload of feedback move on.

i sold box sets off of dhgate for almost a year and never had any problems.
i would always ask the sellers extra questions to see if they were responsive. i could also negotiate lower prices.
 
you just have to weed out the good sellers from the bad ones. I have had luck with both dhgate and tradetang in the past. Just look for good quality feedback sellers that can be trusted.

Just like working with anyone else, you have to do your homework. There are just as many scammers right here in the good ole USA.

Nothing is 100% safe but you can get a good idea by doing some homework. Check out their feeback, take a look at their website, do Whois search on it, talk to potential sellers on IM, have them send you samples (this is important). Just don't go rushing out to send them $xxxx because they give you a good price. Then once you negotiate on a price pay them with Credit card or CC thru Paypal so you have some protection. DON'T use bank wire or western union. Even the Chinese escrows can screw you over. If they don't take CC or CC through PP then move on.

I have successfully found good, reliable and cheap Chinese suppliers. Sometimes you have to talk to several, compare samples because there can be a huge difference in quality from seller to seller. It takes work and a little effort but pays off in the end.

I got an Ipod Touch clone from tradetang, I was hoping it would be a bit better, but for $50 with shipping I guess you get what you pay for. If you want to make a selling on Ebay it is very good and I would use it again.

But don't think if something goes wrong they will help you out, they always back the sellers on there, always.
 
I ordered some Box DVD set from DHGate and did get the packages but the quality of the boxing was too poor to consider reselling. Does anyone know good sellers on DHGate that have high quality Box sets? Please PM me.

Looks alright. But also look to see where the feedback is coming from. If a lot is from the same person it can just be them buying their own things and leaving themself good feedback.
 
Tradetang is good and pretty cheap for post and products
Just watch the fuckers that try it on with postage.

The agent who represented TradeTang during my dispute with them was named "Angela". They apparently feel that by giving Anglo-Saxon names to their agents you will feel more comfortable and trusting while actually they are not representing you at all. Their escrow service favors the seller not the buyer and remember, they are not your "friend".
On a nearly $800 purchase order for what I was lead to believe were 2 American made electric guitars, (they sent me counterfeit fakes), I requested a full refund plus return shipping costs. Their response was a "generous offer" of $300 and I would have to pay for return shipping ($450 via UPS International). You do the math.
PayPal would not stand up for me since they ruled it was outside of e-bay when in reality they would lose their handsome fees if they tried.
The time limit was easily exceeded by the merchant and their shipping agent EMS shipping. The merchant has this carefully worked out so it will.
This site was a total scam to me using bait and switch tactics to lure me into thinking I would receive genuine merchandise (using photos copied from other sites), then, after the sale is made, shipped out counterfeit merchandise in an unauthorized substitution. I found the same exact pictures of the same exact guitars, including trees in the backround, on DH Gate. I would advise avoiding this site altogether.

Looks like you never buy anything from China before...

Info about China and chinese people

1 - They like to use the term "my friend" as a business manner to be close to the buyer which they think will make them conformable with the buying.

You will also notice that this term "my friend" is widely use by indians and arabs around the world... You can go to the chinatown in NYC and they will still call you "my friend"

2 - Chinese people likes to simplify businesses by using an English name. I believe it has something to do with the colonization of Hong Kong island by the england until 1997. Many chinese have an english name.

3- Shipping is a pain in the ass if you ship your items from China...
One example: my suppliers got shoes at 10$...
I order 6 shoes..60$... shipping is around 50 to 60$ also...it is normal

Logistically... it is expensive to ship from China... on the other hand if you ship it from Hong Kong you will see a price difference in the shipping..

well some people there are scams but others are not, its tought to see who's who's I wouldn't risk it since they tend to be cheap Chinese replicas ! just my 2 cents, good luck.
