Exactly, @Mr Positive. They are most beneficial for businesses with local presence (real physical location - town/street/etc).
I did citations for my brother, who is a lawyer and can confirm they are pretty powerful. E.g. GMB + google maps + one local directory bring him around 200 visits daily in peak days. Not bad for a counsellor, who actually doesn´t accept new clients. I advised him to gather at least the emails just to have them for any future reason but he ignores it, he doesn´t need them.
I posted this link as I read a thread here where people were starting digital agency focused on local companies, I guess it will be useful to someone.

You can't do it with one tool, it's not a single platform. You can either teach a VA to do it, or hire a citations building pro.

It is also not recommended to do it automatically.

If someone has something that can make it easier to create, it would be great to share.
