I've never been on the dark web but would like to explore it without getting viruses on my laptop. I understand I need Tor browser, but can anyone give me tips on safe browsing with Tor? I'm an artist and photographer in Brooklyn NY. I want to especially find photo sites, explore photography on Tor. Any advice appreciated or let me know what group I should post the question in. Thanks.

The dark web is not a good place to search for photo sites or photography, at least if you're looking for legal ones ;)

Oh I don't know, I just want to explore it, but I don't want a virus on my computer. Can you offer any advice?

you wont be affected with virus unless you download something suspicious, don't download any images or videos
use a VPN along with tor network , have 360 total security free version installed and activated

not true.
Very not true.
You CAN be affected by a virus by just browsing a website.
It's not common but it is possible.
hihi zeroday exploits
hihi driveby exploits
hihi malvertising
360 total security of what? That itself sounds like malware already.

Tails + Virtual Box.

Strive to learn how to use Linux; it's not difficult. ChatGPT can help you. Don't download executable files. You are doing well by investing your time in knowing both sides of the coin.

Fools connected to the system, who tell you not to do this or that, live in fear and with a false sense of security.

Besides other advices already checked here, try to verify sites and use the ones you can find on official hidden wiki. What in particular you'd be looking for to need to be accessing dark web?

On an unrelated note, your account is very old yet the last time you've posted was about 10 years ago. May I ask what prompted your return? :D

Very weird question and based of the age on your account, It's like you are trying very hard to say pdf file without saying pdf file.
and besides even kids nowadays know how to access dark web easily LOL

Simple way to avoid this is using sandbox ...
A better way would be to use a virtual machine.
Tails + Virtual Box.
This is a good choice. I had totally forgotten about Tails. :D

Some things are better left unsaid. :D Maybe he wants to look at photographs for inspiration.

Nothing wrong with exploring darkweb, its beautiful place. Just avoid downloading any random stuff and you are good to go. Plus avoid sharing your real information.

Make sure you have good antivirus on your pc.

I'm just exploring for fun. I'm always looking for interesting photography, anything new. Yes, I have not been on here in ages, I kind of forgot the site existed. Thanks for all the advice!
