Developing Leads for a Car Salesman?

If you want to start this biz expect to invest a little bit more then you think. It's a highly competitive niche. Or already trade/buy fresh leads from the reputable provider like me ;D
What kind of investment is required? You really sell leads?

If your friend has a real business he might want to look into adwords. If you need an Adwords expert just send me a PM. I have several car clients and know this field very well.

USE v12/lotvantage combined with 5 c/l accounts, he should have more than enough.

by printing small pamphlet and place on the cars in local area and asking them to be your referral. They can earn points, commission, free car checkup...etc for every successful deal they recommended. You also promote your online biz at the same time and create brand awareness even thru they dont sign up as referral.

everything doesnt have to be on the internet, theres still tons of ways to generate offline leads.

Offer him a little % for each lead generated from you. But think about it wisely, don't sell yourself cheap
He offered to split his commission with me for every lead that turns to a sale. Obviously that means I'd have to swallow the leads that go nowhere. Depending on how this works out I might become a salesman myself. I could surely use the money to invest on white/black hat.

A recommendation
Negotiation Website: In the past, I had a friend that created a website as a Price Negotiator on higher end purchases in exchange for either a percentage or small fee. He did it priceline negotiator style and targeted high school newspapers, yearbooks, gyms with newsletters and advertising space, and posted on craigslist his services. He would make money on the front end as a negotiator and make money on the backend referring the clients to yadda yadda cruiseline or yadda yadda car dealership. It was an interesting system, as he often had repeat customers.

If he wants them, he can at least pay for generation of the leads. That is a rule of thumb I use-- never front your own money or time for something that might not pan out.
If you are aiming for exclusive leads, generated fresh-- you are looking at around $10-$15. Especially if they are generated for an opt-in process and verified on top of that. They are hot leads, and its his fault if he can't get the sale-- not yours.

Just park a car inside local malls have have people complete an "entry form" to win.
I didn't know people were using that to generate leads. Pretty slick. I did get in contact with someone here who promotes on CL but no leads were developed. He said my friend's cars were too expensive for CL since the average was 16k.
