Is there any tool that can determine SEO competition like google for adwords Low, Med, Hard ?

If not a tool then what is the best way of doing it ?

you can get a gauge on competition pretty simply really

just install a basic analytics toolbar into your browser and see what the PR of the Sites are that are in the Top 10

next you can see what are the competing pages total ... and if you also have Moz Toolbar you can get a gauge on Domain Authority and Page Authority.

other than that most keyword tools give you a complete set of numbers you can look at for your chosen keyword.

Something I always point out in low competition keywords - alot of high PR sites get ranked by default because there aren't alot of people optimizing for those keywords - so if your site is targeted its easy to take over ... but as you move up the keyword chain this becomes harder and harder.

LongTailPro Platinum does this. I love it.

I have LongTailpro Platinum . it gives you Average Keyword competitiveness Lets say it gives me 45 for a keyword i have .

how would you determine that KW ? Low , Med , Hard ?

Thank you , Great answer.

Just study the backlinks of your #1 competitor using tools like ahrefs and seospyglass. Thats usually what I do (ahrefs is a lot more accurate).

I don't usually pay attention to anything other than that.

Sometimes you will find sites that block their links (like my own sites rank #1 but display 0 links in all backlink tools)
and those are a PITA to deal with. But most of the time all I use is ahrefs. I don't care about the volume of results,
or PPC competition, the ONLY thing I care about is backlinks, what type, how many, how their anchor text is done,
pr of their backlinks, pr of the page, and I basically graph all these factors in my head then determine whether I
can outrank them.

There are much more sophisticated ways of measuring competition (I think moz has a tool that gives a site a
number). And people who have private networks will know if the number is less than a certain amount, they
can rank for that keyword (depending on how strong their network is).

But for low to moderate competition keywords, I always just check backlinks in ahrefs.

Market Samurai is good tool to get a quick look on competition level of any keyword.

45 would be med-hard

Rough guide for LTP competition numbers:

<25 easy
25-35 easy-medium
35-45 medium
45-55 medium-hard
55+ break out the big guns and start the war
