definitely case study, there are soo many crap ebooks, who wants another one.
with a case study you can prove u know what ur talking about and people can actually see the xamples,
You use case studies to validate a claim (SEO for SaaS) and support the prospect's decision to take action (contact/purchase).
eBooks are used to give people a high-level view or introduction to a topic. The purpose is to leave a good first impression by providing something they value and can use over a period of time. The more useful it is, the better first impression you will give them.
As @pepeneo said, you should be putting just as much effort into creating an ebook as you would building a business. You can't stand on the pile of trash if the information you give people is also trash.
Most people also get case studies wrong. It's about the story--not the results. You write case studies around common issues--not traffic increases. The prospect has to see themselves in the story and picture the transformation that you can help them achieve.
The higher the results, the less believable they are too. The point of social proof is to make you more believable--not make the prospect more skeptical.
It's not one or the other. It's when to use which one.
