Desktop Vs Mobile Serp

Hello; looking for a little help here "SEO beginner"

Can anyone explain what the difference between Ggle SEO for Desktop & SEO for Mobile ranking?
It seems that they are separated, keywords ranks on desktop aren't the same for mobile. And always keywords for Desktop are better/improved than the ones on mobile.

How to improve ranking on Mobile side, since all traffic nowadays comes from mobile?
Any hints please?

Let's say i'm on Page 1 for desktop keywords, but for mobile I'm stuck on page 2.

Thanks for your reply, so for what you mentioned for the 3 factors, they are all perfect, that's the first thing I work on when setting up a new website.
Comparing to my competitors, my metrics are way better.

But still struggle to get better ranking on mobile search.

What I'm thinking is, there's a priority for Desktop SERP for ranking keywords, Ggle will test your website using Desktop traffic "assuming it's well optimized for mobile too", If all good, then Ggle will gradually allow some keywords to jump into Mobile Serp. For fresh website maybe it takes 2-3 months to see effects, assuming you are doing Off-site SEO. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

For my case, a 3 old website, have 150 keywords "Semrush Desktop metrics" 5 of them are top 10, but for mobile only 20 keywords and 0 on top 10.

So my question to confirm my theory, is there anyone who had successfully getting good Mobile SERP instead of desktop in the first months? Also keywords numbers difference!

Page loading speed and mobile usability play a big roles ensure both of these are in good order if you want to rank well for mobile results.
