Desktop or Notebook for IM

I use and have a desktop in my office and i have a laptop for the road or when im outside at the picnic table. I have both hooked to my wireless router which have a range of 4 blocks. I sometimes use my laptop over my cousins house who stays 1 block from and i use my wi fi internet when I am over.

But if i was yo, i wold get a laptop first because you can take it anywhere

I have a 5 year old desktop from which I make all the money.

Just to show people I am a business man, I have got 1
IBM laptop. Just to look professional etc.

Secret- I watch porn movies in the laptop at night on the
bed. hehehehehe :)

If it's pure IM, then I'd go for notebook.

But for video editing and other intensive work, I'll go with my desktop anytime.

I don't blend very well with notebook's keyboard and (I don't know the name of the notebook's mouse substitute.. lol).. But I think it's cause I'm not used to it..

I understand because I was the same way. But you get used to it. For me laptops are the only way to go because I can't be chained to a desk for more than 2 minutes.

There are packages you can use to make a laptop work like a desktop if you like to work at a desk and want a better keyboard. They go for around $80 to $120.

another option is a dedi/vps running windows that you rdp into and just use any old shitbox laying around the place and login to a single pc that does it all thats strapped to a 100mbit at a datacenter...

Haha...Hahah...I do the same..

personally I go notebook so you can be kicking it at starbucks and watching the ladies while you make the cha-ching!

plus mobility trumps stability every time haha ;)

I recently purchased an asus aspire one netbook for IM... I rarely use my desktop anymore

At work we roll with duel 20 inch widescreens and at the crib im rocking an oldschool dell desktop, from my college days.. its still kicking believe it or not.. looking to purchase a laptop after christmas with my CJ check for november

notebook, can change location to give you more inspiration. I reckon next year notebook sales will beat desktop sales

As much I love the mobility of a laptop (which I have) I could not do without my big powerful desktop. It's huge flat screen monitor and it's superior performance. Yes I love laptops but if I had to choose one or the other ... Hands down, the desktop wins.

I use both but I prefer my laptop. I like to be mobile. :) Oh and HP sucks by the way. Next time no buying a pc for me, I'm building mine.
