For Internet Marketing daily tasks (like reading BHW =]) is it a good idea to use notebook, or desktop is still a better choice??

What's your opinion?

personally I go notebook so you can be kicking it at starbucks and watching the ladies while you make the cha-ching!

plus mobility trumps stability every time haha ;)

1 Desktop at Home and 1 Laptop outside and for holidays ;)

i will go for notebook, because i'm going to buy an laptop my self ;) to earn money with it... much more compfort for me

I don't blend very well with notebook's keyboard and (I don't know the name of the notebook's mouse substitute.. lol).. But I think it's cause I'm not used to it..

hey if you start earn money you can get both lol

p.s it's esay...

i have 2 desktops and 1 notebook or laptop as they are more commonly known... much prefer the notebook as i can stay in bed and use it.... and its not so regimented.... but then again the desktop is alot faster.

i use a desktop workstation with a 30inch screen (that thing is definitly worth its money... increases productivity a lot!). and i have a sony TZ-series 11-inch notebook for working when i'm on holiday or sitting in the cafe or with clients.

if you want to just buy 1 computer i suggest getting a small but still performant notebook (eg. dell / sony 13 inch with an SSD harddrive) and an external screen with at least 24 inches... that's the best combination then i think - performance and mobility... problem: not very cheap...

Until you make $3k/month consistently a cheap desktop pc is enough for internet marketing related activities. I know guys who make $10k+ per month, and they use really cheap desktop computers (their PCs cost lest then $500).

But if you have a lot of money, than choose the setup that macmastermike was talking about.

1 desktop (dad's computer hey i am still a student)
1 laptop (my personal computer)

a basic desktop can be enuff - but having a big screen and a notebook doesnt hurt!

But I'm asking this not because I want a computer for the IM. I just wanted to know the opinions of guys who really use the computer to what most matters to me now. And I'm thinking about buying a new one anyway...

I spend some 1 or 2 weekends/month on my parents house, and I'm thinking about keeping a notebook there, because time is money.. =] and I get tedious fast there too..

I have 2 DELL desktops and 1 IBM laptop. Both of my desktops have big flat screen monitors and erogonomic keyboards and office chairs and therefore I am much more productive on my desktop.

When I use my laptop, I am either in a meeting, on the phone, in bed, watching tv, at Starbucks, on vacation, at the library or somewhere else away from home. This, in turn, relates to less work and productivity and more procrastination.

Therefore, I prefer my desktops for making me more money.

IMHO You should spend that little time with your parents when you're at their house. :) If you decide to buy a laptop, choose one that has a higher screen resolution than 1280x800 (you'll need it if you use Photoshop or other similar programs).

Depends on if you want to be mobile or not. Keep in mind that it is much easier and cheaper to upgrade a desktop than a laptop. Personally I have two desktops and one laptop hooked up to a wireless router. I can take my laptop to the kitchen table or out in the back yard to do some work whenever I want to, so I'm not chained to the desk.

I also go to Starbucks sometimes to do some work. This is where the coffee is expensive and the hot chicks are cheap.

All in all, it's mainly a personal choice.

Whether or not you THINK you will be mobile, just get the laptop so you have a CHOICE! Myself, I have a rocket ship for a laptop, then I have a desktop at home that works 24/7 doing "things" for me. If you had to choose, I think its a hands down vote for the laptop. The performance difference really isn't that noticeable.
