Hi,

I am looking to buy a laptop.

Tell me which one in your opinion is best, Dell or HP from IM work point of view.

Regards
(ForgoT)

I currently use a dell laptop, have had it for over a year and so far not a single problem, only 2 or 3 dead pixels.

I bought an HP printer a few months ago, the software that came with it destroyed my desktop computer, eventually had to reformat the hard drive, never dealt with HP since that experience

I've purchased 4 Dells over the past 2 years and have had good experiences. The prices are good, warranties sound and I get free shipping when I purchase through my corp via the "small business" option on the Dell site.

I've no experience with HP.

DELL is the best, although the computer I am currently using is a desktop by HP and it has not given me a problem for the 8 years that I have used it.

Sony Vaio :)

But out of those two (Dell & HP), I'd go with Dell

HP sucks! (sometimes) lol

Wow... 8 years? that's a long time to be having a computer or laptop
keep it up, you'll soon have an antique heh

they both have defective models, but the most important is the specs you will need

it is not that important what is the brand as long as there is warranty

True...but I avoid HP like the plague...I'd recommend Dell given the choice between the two.

Go with Dell. I own an inspiron E1505/6000 with lots of extra hop-ups and it is truley the best Laptop I have ever owned. Just make sure you get their extended warrenty service there is no other PC company that offers what Dell offers when it comes to protecting your investment. Every time I had an accdent with my laptop I had a repair man at my front door within 24hrs. Hope my 2 cents helps:)

If you go with Dell don't go cheap. Get an XPS laptop. I LOVE MINE.

Since its is between Dell and HP . I would go with DELL only ... however I would prefer IBM LENOVA... I use it for my WORK for the past 2.5 years and its AMAZING to work.. it is robust laptop I ever had.

I have a DELL inspiron /HP -Compaq NX 6120/ Sony VAIONS120/ IBM Levnova T60p.
The first laptop which i bought before 5 years was HP and the bought DELL Inspirion.. Sony VAIO was super expensive I have ever got but I go with the super cool IBM T60P biometric laptop...:D

Go with a Dell Refurb with Complete Care contract. Get tired of your laptop? Pour a can of soda on it. Call them and explain the accident. Free laptop, if your laptop is no longer sold or not in stock you get the newest comparable model free.

If you get a Dell laptop, get an XPS.

My main computer is a Dell XPS M1730, which I love to death. At 12 pounds, though, it sits on my desk and doesn't move much (if at all). It's amazingly fast, and after having it for a year, I've had zero problems with it. I'm a longtime XPS laptop buyer, and have loved the quality of them as opposed to the "normal" dell lines.

Additionally (and this is what sealed the deal for me 3 times in a row with buying the XPS laptops), you get instant access to USA-based tech reps who will help you. They have a special queue setup for the XPS owners, based somewhere in PA (that's what the guy told me a couple years ago, anyway) and when you enter your product code on the phone prompts, they take you directly to that queue. The longest I've ever waited on hold was 15 minutes.

one of the most stupid things in my life i did was after using Dell forever to try HP.

Im not ashamed of kinda anything ive done, like drinking and driving or cheating tax agency or calling the cops Gestapo Faggots among hundreds of wonderfull things ive done

But im very fucking ashamed of owning a HP comp and cant wait untill i get myself a new Dell and put this HP IN A FUCKING MICRO OWEN AND BLOW IT UP, and THAT i will even do in a sober state

Hope you get the picture

I've always dealt with Dell, but I actually just bought an HP tx2500z tablet, it has touchscreen and stuff, pretty cool, it was like $600 on sl1ckd34ls.net, and I'm happy with it so far. So much smaller than my last Dell notebook. I don't think I'll ever buy a huge-ass notebook again, what's the point?

I love my HP Pavilion's features and it's cool "Liquid Metal" finish.
I have a couple of friends who do use HP laptops since 5-8 years and no one told me of any complaint.

I'd suggest you to touch the models you do consider, then choose by your feeling.
Both HP and Dell are great.

Eventually consider a model with back lit keyboard.

Although HP has improved their quality, I'd still go with Dell. I have 4 Dell computers at the moment.

My most recent dell is a Precision t3400, quad-core with two internal hard drives for backup. Dell installed the raid configuration so it was ready to go when it was delivered.

I've only needed to replace one dell when it died after 6 years of constant daily use.

The problem is I am NOT from USA and in my country prices of Laptops are 2x of the prices in USA....

So, far, I liked three Laptops - HP Tx2 and HP HDx and DELL Studio XPS 16.

Any suggestions how to get an HP HDx 18t from the USA to my country? (I am in Asia, dont ask my home country.. :P)
