I have a new channel that's been growing a lot in the last months. I had two videos going viral, but from previous knowledge i know they are kinda risky for copyright strikes. They've already got most of their views, so I'm thinking of deleting them now to not have to worry about strikes.

They are still getting 20k+ views per day, but I have newer videos that are going well so it would not be a big loss.

I'm wondering if this would affect my channel somehow? would it affect the algorithm?

I appreciate all thoughts!. Thank you!

Do you have any Video copyright details showing on these two videos ?

Nope, I'm more worried it can happen in the future. I've had videos before getting strikes 1 year after the upload date

I can't say yes or no. But it would probably affect your channel traffic if you delete the viral video. If you have many videos on your channel, that's okay for you to delete that video. My suggestion is you should get another viral video and delete that video from your channel.
Good luck

Deleting videos that have been performing well cause a decrease in your channel's total view count and engagement

You should delete the video, do not get the channel in danger because of some videos only.

Yes, don't think short term, think long term, you want to make the best channel possible, and for that you need to upload videos and keep working and learning on the platform. You can't do that so well if you have to run around and manage multiple identities cause you got banned from the platform previously. Going viral and making money on youtube isn't really about the video itself. It's the subject. Take advantage of subjects you find with the proper editing and new value proposition, and keep good backups for youtube proof that show you significantly changed the original (if you're doing that kind of thing). Best of luck.

i delete low performing view vids and re upload them months later
to see if my luck changes, hit n miss

Won't affect the algo but you will see a drop in the views, besides that all should be fine.

Yeah, it could have an impact on your channel in a few different ways. The way YouTube's algorithm works is to give more exposure to videos that are unique and innovative. So, if your videos have copyrighted stuff in them, YouTube might not push them as much to viewers. And here's the thing, if you end up getting hit with three copyright strikes within 90 days, your channel is toast. That means all your videos will be taken down, and you won't be able to make or upload any new ones on that channel anymore. It's a pretty harsh consequence, I gotta say.
