Can't delete them. For some you just gotta hope the friendship request expires. For others you just can't do anything about it.

Not true, instadub can scrape inactive followers and then block/unblock them.

if you're mostly using your phone, then there is an app for iPhones called "Captivate" and Similar app called "Cleaner"
