Deleted article redirecting to older article/post

Hello! Can anyone help me with this? This problem makes my head hurt! Here is my problem:
I deleted an article because of low traffic and wrong keyword choice. Let's say the post title is "best widget". I also deindexed the article using search console.

After I deleted that post, it automatically redirected to an old article "best widget for kids". I didn't do anything for it to redirect. WTF?! I even tried to redirect the deleted post "best widget" to my homepage using several plugins, but it's still redirected to that single article "best widget for kids". Have anyone also experienced this? I am on Wordpress by the way.

Don't you have some weird code in your htaccess or at hosting level maybe? There must be some redirect rule somewhere.

I am still trying to contact my server. I am using cloudways with vultr by the way. I totally forgot about the htaccess. I will try that. Thanks @Nargil
