Delete GMaps listing

I haven't messed with Google places in a while and it seems they recently revamped the interface where it's quite different from before.

Anyway, what I want to do is a delete a Google maps listing due to bad reviews and create a new one. I have created a new places page and attempted to delete the old one (which was verified already) but after I clicked on the delete pages button, I notice that the Google maps listing is still there for it along with the reviews.

Did I do something wrong? I've checked tutorials but they all show an old interface and a different procedure which appears to no longer work...

You can try to edit and close the listing via mapmaker

You are going to want to call Google directly and speak with a representative. They can guide you through this if you speak with the correct person. Sometimes takes a couple calls to find the right one.

To update everyone on this, I ended up contacting them via their support form and spoke with someone. They basically instructed me to simply use the delete feature which is available as long as you have the listing claimed. I had used this first but then thought it didn't work since I only let a few days pass. Apparently you have to be more patient, anyway as of right now, the listing is finally gone so what they told me worked. Just passing this info along for anyone else who may be having a similar issue.
