Degree Website Building? design?

I just graduated college with a degree in psych. Im thinking about getting into website design, I really enjoy building sites and the design aspect.

What would be a good degree worth getting to make some sort of career out of site design?

Also is this a stupid goal? IS there even a career like that out there?

Im good at SEO and some design, but I would like to further my education.

Any suggestions would be really helpful. I just graduated and still dont know what I want to do when I grow up.

Good Web design is expensive. Great web design is very expensive. Will some degree enable you to get in that industry by itself? I don't think so. If you go that path, prepare for a huge amount of personal work to make your skills better and better all the time.

If you're good at it, you really don't need to earn a degree. Your portfolio is what people will be looking at, not what education you have. If you really want to go back to school, colleges (community colleges in the States?) have web design programs that are usually 2 years long. I also assume there are a least a few universities out there offering fine arts degrees in web design.

If you already got a degree from college, that's great, get to work now and acquire real skills.

You got the diploma, now go get the skills (and you won't get them in college).

One degree and 4 years of college are good. Anyone should be allowed to have fun while young. But going back to college for another 4 years, waste of time. There are high school kids that know how to design and develop websites nowadays, and they did not go to college, you can not afford the luxury of wasting any more time.

While you are taking your degree try and build your portfolio up. Employers/clients want to see your work mainly, degree is secondary, it just proves you have the determination to get through your course.

But Wouldnt it be beneficial to take courses to learn how to do web design, or is it all self taught? Im good at basics, but really want to expand.

In my opinion generally having a degree does matter. It proves you have the determination to endure the full course. But in many cases, people end up in careers that don't have any relevance to the course they took at Uni. In my previous finance job my CEO had a degree in bio-chem. As you see it's not entirely related to finance.

A lot of web designers do not have a specific formal qualification or even go to university. In fact, the few that I know dropped out during their first and second year. What's important is to have a good portfolio for perspective employers to determine your value. What counts in your case is your creative skills, technical ability, your attitude and whether people can work with you.

I don't think there is anything a degree course could teach you that you can't learn yourself. I think that is true of most fields. Even in my field (finance), although a body examines me, I still teach myself from textbooks.
