Defeat competitor

Hello, usually i use only white hat Seo tecnique but this time i have a big problem, for my main keyword (the name of my site) i have a competitor wich is located after me at 3th position, but the real problem is that this competitor placed a defamatory page in the Google serp, i think that this is not a correct behavior and i want to remove in any way this web site from Google serp for my main keyword.
Which is the best solution?

Make a Facebook page, a Twitter acct. and a blogspot or blogger blog targeting your keyword. There are many other high ranking websites, but try what happens when you do this.
