default sort filter by start date?

Another question that might be silly but I'm hoping someone can help and hopefully the anwer might help some others experiencing this confusion in the future....

Is there a way to have the view/filter default so that I see threads by most recent? Currently it seems to default by most recent comments/posts on a thread, not when it was made originally.

As far as I'm aware, that feature doesn't exist.

For now, all you can do is click the "Start Date" text to sort threads by start date in ascending or descending order every time you visit a sub-forum.
