Dedicated Server vs Shared Server (Building PBN)

Okay greetings folks was going to ask a quick questions because i've been talking to my self and can't come up with the answer.

If there were two websites exactly the same minus different unique content however one of these websites was on a dedicated server vs the other one being on a shared server heres what im thinking who would google put at number one? If i was looking to throw a party and send all the traffic to someone i would rather send them to a giant wearhouse rather then someones garage at their parents house. If google wants to throw a party at your website their going to pick the one that is on its own dedicated server rather then the website that is sharing space with someone. Its just something to think of how many of your competitors are on shared hosting compared to their own dedicated hosting? This one move might be a big sign to google that your an authority(if your content is on point) and that you have the available resources and space to handle their volume of customers they could potentially send to you.

Google isn't throwing any parties. I just got done setting up a small network for myself. I used 5 different hosts. All of them were shared and yearly paid.
 
Yeah Google isn't throwing any parties. Shared hosting is perfect for PBN as traffic on the PBN sites will probably be very low :)
 
Im talking about for my money site. If you and I both had a PBN with quality website good content same backlinks. Would google choose a website(money site) that has a shared server or a dedicated server to give the number one spot to.
 
I mean you can but it would be a waste unless your pulling in more than 10k uniques aday. If you are that conscious about the whole hosting issue just get a vps with a dedicated Ip. Every site starts out small, even start ups start from vps's then move up. Cloudhosting is your next best bet.
 
You are in a higher position when compared to free sharing. I believe using shared server is sufficient for a PBN site. If you are interested in using a dedicated server then make sure you have good ROI.

Thank you for that. Can you tell me what a ROI is and why it is important for a dedicated server? Have you ever heard of digital ocean what do you think of them?
 
There is no ranking differences for shared hosting or dedicated server. There are some networks which are banned, but it is not the case with most known hosters.
I know lots of websites that are ranking well and are on shred hosts and vice versa. It may seem like most big websites are on dedis, but it is because they get a lot of traffic and thus they need more resources.
If you still think being on a shared server is something bad for ranking you can just buy a dedicated IP from the provider. It is usually about $2 or less and Google cannot know if it is a dedicated server or a VPS or a dedicated IP.

The difference between shared hosting and a dedicated server would be the speed, a factor that Google considers in their ranking algorithm. With a BPN, this doesn't play such an important role, so I'd say a shared account would suffice for a PBN.
 
You can even host a couple on the same server if you're on a budget. You just have to get the domains onto CloudFlare on different accounts to generate different IPs.
 
As long as your website's loading time is acceptable, you wont have that kind of issue.

Google doesn't care about that, it only cares about visitor experience. If your visitors aren't experiencing lags you wont have any issues.
 
VPS + Multiple IP's from different subnets + custom name servers. You can always request fresh IP's from your provider if you ever have problems. Building a PBN on shared hosting will just increase the cost and be a management nightmare. The first PBN I ever built years ago was built on lots of shared hosting accounts (free + paid). The shared servers were constantly getting hit by hackers and there were days when the sites were either crawling or down. Caused more problems than it was worth.
 
Probably the only ranking factor that would help with a dedi server might be increased page load speed.
 
Has anyone used Digital Ocean? Im having trouble getting wordpress up and transferring my website from godaddy.
