Hi all,

Really want to start a search engine on one of my sites as I think at LEAST it will give me a good idea of what my visitors really want.

I want to set it up basically like Google, Ixquick, Dogpile, etc. Big bar in the middle basically. I've found a couple scripts on CodeCanyon, and there are some paid options. Does anyone have a lead on any of these?

I've been learning HTML the past year, and just started PHP... I'm basically wanting to offer a metasearch service on a site. My thinking is it's better to buy something like one of the above and build on and with that as a learning project, rather than building my own from scratch which would really take me a long time with my current time obligations and knowledge level. That might be the best way to start - but I also want a functioning site up in the meanwhile.

Does that sound like a relatively solid plan? I learn best by building and working on a project. I don't know if there's any issues I'll have working on something that is someone else's programming originally but I'm hoping that won't be insurmountable?

If you know any other meta/search engine options out there, free or cheap or even expensive but super awesome, let me know? I do have some pages I'm reading that basically show how to create your own simple search engine, cut and paste, but I'm not sure how I feel about those quite yet. I'd like to have something plugged in and operating, at least capturing a few search queries, that already has a solid set of features and 'prettying up' done, before just copy and pasting some basic engine into a page.

On the other hand, maybe not.

Anyone interested in providing any feedback at all - super appreciated! Thanks! (Back to reading.) :)

1 and 3 : use bing PI
2 use youtube API

bing API limit : 5000 query per month, but you can rotate. IMO, bing api not IP based, but apps based limit per month
youtube api or rss, no limitiation, but only video

prefer #1 since have good design, with bootstrap

Thank you very much!

I also prefer that one. Learning a lot more about APIs right now. :) Or trying.

Now in market many readymade script providers are available but according to your requirements custom development solution is best option for you. Customized Clone gives you many benefits but the main advantage is that it gives you 100% Copyright and ownership, so in future if you want to sell your clone websites you are feel free and get good return of it. I have checked good reviews of NCrypted Technologies for getting customized clones.

Thanks. I have heard of them before, I'll check them out!
