in-depth researched articles, grammatically correct, cleanly formatted and - depending on the topic they cover - that also include statistics, infographics, tables, relevant images, etc

- weak competition
- strong domain name (high DR, lots of quality RDs)
- black hat techniques (link injection, tiered link building)
- powerful links (PBNs, guest posts, niche edits aka. link insertions) from quality sites that 1) rank in google, 2) get decent traffic from google (at least few 100s visitors per month), 3) are not considered link farms by google (they don't link out to meaningless sites from each page / article they have)
- luck (google inserts randomness into their algorithms and if you're lucky to get their favors you'll rank in top 10 without doing anything)
- high quality and well optimized content
- great user engagement
- good technical SEO (fast site, clean navigation, no 404 / broken links, etc)
- any combination of the above

Yep, it's high, the autocorrect..

On this note I will try to list my thoughts:
1. Anything that could be considered a featured snippet, instantly improves content, I.e lists, tables, short answers, relevant keywords, direct answers
2. Giving the answer, as soon as possible to the reader, then enticing him to read on relevant content.
3. Formatting the post in an intelligent and interesting way
4. Engaging tone of voice
5. Every paragraph should give a solution for some problem
6. Use as much lists as possible
7. Incorporate one or two tables in every post
8. Graphs and images are bonus
9. Being more in depth than others
10. Optimizing on surfer and other tools of course
11. Designing the page in a nice and calm way
12. Correct and thoughtful internal linking
13. Look at other successful pages and try to imitate
14. Look at the kws on gsc after you started rankings and optimize the post for them as well
15. Write the content to be seamless as possible, like an airpod sitting on your ear.

There most be more though.

The article which is well researched and written manually is a good article and ranks.

Always create content with images and videos, which retains users on site for a long time.
