Decent backlink checker / Trackback Spider / Site pinger

Does anyone have a favorite backlink checker? I have been using backlinkwatch dot com but its not accurately reporting domains using nofollow. I also used a tool recently, I think it was from the comment demon guy that you feed a txt list of blog urls and it separates the nofollow's but once again, when I went and checked the blogs, it missed quite a few. It also crashed more often then it didnt.


On a side note, did anything good become of trackbackspider? or was it hype?..


On a side, side note. I recently saw a piece of software that was used to ping sites and make them appear as blogs, even when they were not. Im pretty sure it was selling for $400+, I might be totally wrong about that, but I am interested in this as well.

Domains Dashboard works great if you have a WHM/cpanel account with lots of domains.

The linkvendor backlinks tool was good, but it does not work nowadays. The backlink tool at www.domain-pop.com is good, because it tells you the unique domains from where you are getting the backlinks. It is easy to have an inflated figure of backlinks if your links are sitewide links, so this tool gives a realistic estimate.

As far as pinging goes, just use Joseph Tierney's blog pinger.

It's free if you opt in to his mailing list.

Here's a tangent ninja suggestion:

If you want to inflate stats to sell links, especially Technorati, spider all of your internal links on your site(s), spider ALL of your backlinks, and put both of those in a text file and ping them every few hours.

Also do trackback posting (trackback spider works well enough for this).

Technorati is a key stat for many "paid to post" type of things. Like getting paid to write blog reviews.

On a single blog (and I can prove it with screen shots, although everybody now knows those are easy to fake), I make a large amount of money doing paid blog posts.

The key stats are backlinks, pagerank, and technorati rank for most paid blog posting.

If you use a trackback poster, ping your own internal url's, and ping your backlinks, you're 75% of the way to getting ALOT more work and charging alot more money for your reviews.
