I run a high-volume web service with PayPal as my payment processor. Because of their seller protection policy, I am basically defenseless against unscrupulous customers who pay for the service then do a chargeback. Lately I've been getting waves of them, mostly 'unauthorized transaction'. I have thought about threatening them with filing a police report with their local department (since I have their name/address via PayPal), or sending a blast to my huge mailing list (250k+ opt-in subscribers in the industry) with their details, warning that they're a scammer. I am just worried about bad PR, it really doesn't look good for a business to be threatening customers -- eg. someone screen-shotting it and putting it on social media, etc. Is there anything I can do to lessen the chargebacks or scare some of these guys into reversing them?
