Yeah, cleaning up thin and duplicate pages helped me a lot. Once I fixed internal linking and boosted page speed, Googlebot started visiting more often even without new backlinks. Quality crawl paths really matter.
 
Improving low quality pages, internal linking, and fast site speed always improve crawling rate.

Spot on post, tbh. People really underestimate how much of an impact a good technical cleanup can have on its own. We had an e-com client with tens of thousands of thin/dupe URLs from faceted navigation, and just aggressively pruning those with noindex/410s made a huge difference. Googlebot started hitting their core money pages almost daily instead of weekly, long before we built any new links.
