Dealing with content theft

Hi,

So I've got an IG page that has collages of celebs with a fashion sale CTA.

A large competitor ( verified page ) has stolen some of my content and copy/pasted my caption + posted on same hashtags with his own CTA. These posts are getting high engagement and thousands of likes where mine are stagnating in the hundreds. This allows him to place higher in the hashtag that i'm targeting where i'm not even placing.

Can I report and have his pictures removed? I do not own the pictures but the pics are credited.

I understand this is just part of the game but any advice for attacking this sort of scenario?

All I can think of is watermarking but as a user I can see that reducing engagement and cluttering the pics. And If i use a frame he could always crop the pic.

The collage is my creation but contains others content.

I'm worried IG won't remove his posts as I did not take the original pictures.

I find a picture of an outfit and pair it with the store the outfit comes from then provide a buy CTA. The pics are put in a collage. I credit the models / photographer / outlet.

There is nothing unique about what i'm doing, the concern is that this large page is reposting my content without crediting me and stealing traffic.

Do I "own" the collage or is nothing stopping this page from reposting?

That does not make you the owner... Maybe you pissed off the wrong person and now they are trying to make you feel how it is.

You can't do nothing about it, they can steal your collage because the picture's ain't yours. If it was your picture + your collage than it was a different story :)
BTW YOU ARE STEALING TRAFFIC TO! by using the real owners their pictures.

Technically they are not stealing from you but the original owner you nicked it from. Nothing you can do. If you report them you could also get sued. Just ignore it, nothing g you can do

Did you really just ask what can you do to a person that's doing "almost" the same shit you do?

Competition is good, improve the photo so that it is obvious he steals your content. Make big ass text COLLAGE BY @ BLA BLA BLA.
 
I do not think you owe the rights, but the easiest thing you can do is to reach out to that account and ask to tag you as collage creator

Yes i'm "recycling" content but not carbon copy steals. Honestly, I wasn't sure if there was any action I could take at all which is why I've reached out.

I think without some sort of watermark they will just laugh at me. But this is likely what I will pursue and have a gentle watermark / frame in future.

There is nothing you can do about, bro :) Since you used someone's pictures without a permission - you can't do nothing for the account that reposted your collage, maybe you can try to DM them and ask them to either remove the picture or mention/tag your account in the post, but I don't think they will be bothered to even read your message since they are verified and probably have hundreds of messages daily so :)

I have to say, in my opinion...

You are what is wrong with the internet nowadays.
If it is not your content, why you get mad? Cause you put it through canva and that's it!
You don't want to get sued but you want to sue.
What a piece of shit.

I actually find it amusing that they thought my content was worth stealing. There's no jealousy but of course I want to actively compete in this niche.

The only real benefit is it's allowed me to find more engaged followers that have interacted with his posts.

A collage doesn't make you the owner of the content, so taking it from you not breaking any rights.
I'd honestly had more laugh for complaining about this rather than asking to tag :)
Just try to be nice to them and you might get the attention you need

It's a profitable niche, I generate small income to the content owners through product sales. Often these celebs are wearing sponsored clothing. I think you miss that I credit everything?

I'm not mad, I just want to ride that traffic wave that his posts generated with my collage and actively compete.

nothing you can do, 100s of meme and other stuff is taken from other pages. its the internet nothing is original practically.
