I've been getting a couple of phone calls a week recently from India regarding Google. They always follow the same script. "Can I please speak to the owner of the business...... We notice your website is not showing on Google ...... we can help .. blah blah blah."
I generally just hang up but today the caller asked what my website url was, so I sent him to meatspin dot com. (NSFW) There was silence and then he hung up. Must remember that one in the future.

Verizon has a function to forward specific numbers to a specific #. Forward to "do not call" or whatever floats your boat. Can't confirm this works but I wish it did on my T-mo...

I use YouMail that allows me to set a specific message for #s. Mom calls and I don't answer she hears "Hey mom..." Now when I get spam calls someone else gets their time wasted.

To me it's just part of running a business. You can forward all of you phone calls and have them transcribed and emailed to you, but if you're like me and want to talk to customers, it's just a price you pay.

I answer the 1st call. After that the decision is made what happens should that number call again. answer-voice mail or ditch

agreed. hostgator called me like six times when i cancel my web hosting. after the first i didn't answer.

LOL, he loves it.

Tell them you have to put them on hold for a couple of seconds and then just leave them there until they hang up.
