De-listed vs. sandboxed?

When a page is sandboxed with Google, is it pushed way down in the rankings or it doesn't show up at all?

I've got a new site that had some great long tail keywords pages that were ranked 3-4 on Google, now they don't show up at all. I can find them via inurl:, but that's the only way.

Will a de-listed page not show up at all, even with a inurl: search? Am I being de-listed or sandboxed? If I'm being sandboxed, I should find my pages somewhere, or not at all?

I had some very well spun content on these pages, I thought I had did a good job. The weird thing is one of the pages (spun the same way) went up in ranking a whole bunch and the domain itself moved up a bit.

use the site: querry and see if your pages are there. losing rankings back and forth, being supressed in the pits of page 10 and beyond are natural occurances in google

OK, I see everything I've created via the site: querry. If I'm de-indexed I wouldn't see any of my de-ranked pages? Are whole sites usually de-listed or just specific pages? Same thing for sandboxing...are whole sites usually sandboxed or just specific pages?

New websites (that aren't blogs) that are very new and gain links too quickly and get a lot of push push push through submission sites can take upwards of 10 months to leave the "new site sandbox"... this looks like +site:domain has results but +link:domain does not. When +link: shows links you are out of the sandbox. If you have never appeared in google results then you haven't been crawled... use a linking method and wait. If you appeared in google for a while and now don't then "it sucks to be you" cause you got punished for something. If the domain was used before you acquired it it might have been banned by the previous owner's activities. I'm not judging... just being honest.

Wayback machine and other search engines might shed some light on past usage. If you are the first owner then read the google guidelines and try to figure out what you did that pissed 'em off. Or start with a new domain.
