.de , .es etc domain names

I want to know do I have to be in the same country, the country extension I want to use for registering a domain name? Like do I have to be in Germany to register a .de domain name.? I

Another thing that comes to my mind is do the domains like financ dot es or classi dot co etc have any value? How much exact match search I should be looking at when considering these domains?

thanks for a quick reply, but it says you have to provide an administrative contact name and postal address for a resident of germany. Is is mandatory to do that if not then do I run into some issues if I try to sell it.? or when I sell it
 
Well I use Godaddy, and I simply buy them through an account which most of my domains are in already. Never been asked for a German address or anything.
 
yea, actually go daddy do provide the admin contact themselves, where as I use namecheap and they don't. Anyways is there any value in these domains, I found a domain name which has more than 50000 exact search for it ending in de. should I register it? I'm new to all this so not sure yet?
 
If you mean: ENGLISHKEYWORD.de , than it has no value at all.
But if you have found GERMANKEYWORD.de with 50K volume, than it's definitely something you should buy.

it is actually similar to something like conce.de, so de is part of the word. it is an english word
 
its search is more than 100000 at the moment on google keyword planner
 
.de cctdl's are one of the few, where you would need to have a representation to be present in germany.
Most of the time that would be the domain owner himself. A lot of the bigger registrars (such as godaddy apparently) have tiny branches all over the world, and are eligible to put their names into the whois as apposed to yours.
