  • China brokers a peace deal between Saudia Arabie and Iran
  • Russia and India agree to trade oil for rupees
  • Brazil and Argentina announce a common currency
  • China completes first yuan-settled LNG trade with France
  • Saudi Arabia considering to accept other currencies besides USD for oil

I could go on and on, but the early signs are there.

What are your thoughts?

How will it affect IM and the world if it happens?

This will affect Americans purchasing power and Thus any business that have Americans clients.

As for currencies, we've got bank accounts that allows us to hold Yuan, Euro ... But I'm worried about the domino effect that will happens on financial world.

I think it's a good thing. A multipolar world will be more stable with no single country wielding significant power to bully smaller nations with their currency and trade embargos.
The resilient IM sector will quickly adjust itself to the new changes.

It will happen sooner or later. I don't want to make any comments on why as it would become a political comment and get me an infraction :D
But a new global trading currency is very much in the pipeline that will be pegged to gold most likely. Fiat currency domination may end or both currencies will exist together.

In my opinion, gold is the only real currency.
You could be stuff with gold 2000BC, you can still buy today.

Gold has remained within the same price range for 12 years, and it looks like it's ready for new, historical highs:

Gold has 13T market cap it will take a lot of currency to move the price

It's been clear for a while global power is shifting to another region. I've always said when a currency fails, it fails hard and fast. Almost seemingly overnight if you aren't paying attention. USD is losing its world dominance as a reserve and petro currency. It's being done on purpose. (Hint: A new global currency is a lot easier to form threw fledgling trade deals and new economic partnerships than it is in an established economy). You also need a catastrophic economic collapse to usher in a new currency like that.

So you can protect yourself; You could move to that other region's friendly territories, and you might be able to shield yourself a little bit. As people said, you could invest in metals and properties to try and maintain some of your wealth during this transition, Or you could revolt against it (to your own demise no doubt)

I also want to add that it won't just be USD that suffers. Any currency that is tightly woven around USD (EURO, CAD, etc) will be affected as well.

I'm just trying to be realistic about what I see.

(Also i tried to avoid as much politics as i could!)

I am not talking about moving the price/manipulating the market. If the USD becomes weaker, you will need more USD's to buy the same amount of Gold, thus higher the price.

That is a very thoughtful response.

I do agree with you. When it fails, it fails fast, but it's almost always well-orchestrated before it happens.

I think more banks could collapse and then bleed into all financial markets
More layoffs in tech companies
Bitcoin and Gold could skyrocket
