De-captchaing

I was wondering if automated de-captchaing is possible.

Would be great if someone can enlighten me on this as this will really help in my link-building process.

Yes. There are many services which offer CAPTCHA bypassing. I'd recommend www.decaptcher.com, it's one of the cheapest. Their price is $2/1000 CAPTCHAs.

that is not automated captcha solving.

1. There is still human intervention.
2. I need captcha solving 24/7 and there cannot be any delay in the solving process
3. the captcha solving is almost non-stop i.e. continuous

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Sending the captcha image over to decaptcher is about as close as you will get to no human intervention. I assume you are building a bot of some sort?

yes. you are right, I intend to build an automated link building tool. So it is best for everything to be completed automated. Isn't it better than having to employ a captcha-solving team?

Let's make a good comparison: would you spend $500 per month to solve 250,000 captchas or would you spend $750 just for a single time and you can solve infinte captcha as they appear in front of you?

Many many people would much rather pay a high fee once to have infinite cracked captcha's but its unrealistic. Sending captcha's to decaptcha is the next best thing to automated captcha cracking right now and for the foreseeable future.

The reason they charge and have more business than they can handle is simply because it cannot be done right now.

It is also the reason Xrumer is so much to buy because they are the only ones that have a good bunch of captcha's cracked, good luck copying their success though.

Have you considered xrumer? I think this is the solution you are looking for. They are the only ones I have seen that programatically solves almost all captchas.

2. I am not considering Xrumer at this moment as there are mixed emotions on its use.
i. No guide on its usage
ii. Spammy links rather than quality
iii. Not realli sure what are all the features inside Xrumer

3. I know De-captcha service is the next best alternative to automatic solution but:
i. Can it be solved almost instantly?
ii. How many can the service handle per day?
iii. There has been complaints that some services are overloaded with requests. True?
iv. Some users also said that those service even charge you for unsuccessful attempts on captcha solving.

what about buying xrumer and setting it up to crack the captchas for your program? dont know if thats possible...

In response to 1) I don't think that just because Xrumer was made by russians that all russians would be able to help you with cracking captcha's, for all I know they dont have captcha breaking lessons at high school.

Anywho. Basically captcha cracking is as much an art form as much as it is a science. No captcha cracking system is 100% accurate (some are for 1 or 2 captcha types but there are 30 or more common captcha types in use at the moment), so effectively no current captcha cracker is gonna fit your criteria, not even X-rumer will crack all captcha's 100%. Some cracks are 30% or less effective for example.

Also nobody that is into captcha cracking will tell you how to do it without asking a hefty sum of dough for the priviledge, because thats what it is. Captcha solving is one of those tricky things that are hard to crack for a reason.

Decaptcha is overloaded at the minute through some points in the day but it really is the cheapest solution right now. If you cannot allow for some time delay in your app then no solution will be acceptable to be honest, I don't know the average delay when using decaptcha but there will be some delay, its pretty much impossibly to not have a delay of some sort.

To get around that making your app slow just use a time event or threads to get better efficiency.

If you wanna PM brief details of the tool I could help with some ideas on how to make things run smoothly but I think you are trying to accomplish something that will not be possible without a year or two work from a GROUP of very talented programmers.

Jimbobo is right on the money. There are some of us who aren't very well known around these parts, but have had a hand in developing some rather well known tools throughout the years. Needless to say, in an ideal world, having your own home server based captcha cracking program is NOT a reality for 99% of you guys.

Yes, there are some people out there that can build, test, and run their own home based, algorhythmic captcha breaker. No, it's not using any popular ocr program either. This is hardcore coding (or hardcoding) at it's best.

I saw a program in action 2 weeks ago where a submitter bot was pinging out to several social bookmarking and article sites. Captcha's galore, right? Yep. The cool thing was that the same computer which was running the submission was also utilizing a captcha breaker running as a service in the background. It would automatically pick up and focus on a captcha box, give it at most 3 tries to figure out, then pass the data back to the program for submission.

Good stuff, but again, specifically designed and coded for an individual who paid a lot of money.

You can call it whatever you want, I don't give a damn whether is a 10-year-old chinese boy typing my captchas or a bot written in brainfuck as long as I get my 10k captchas solved every day.

Who'd be so stupid to ask only 750$ for a program that can make 500$ per month (per customer) ?
On the other hand, no one here would probably pay the 100k bucks it is worth

So I guess de-captcha service is the way to go?

How long a time delay should be placed for the service to key in the captcha code?

How long is the entire process?
....
1. seeing a captcha during registration at a website
2. sending the captcha to the de-captcha service (almost instant??)
3. allowing the indian worker to key in the captcha code
4. sending the entered code back to my program (almost instant??)
5. repeating step2 to 4 for a maximum of three attempts if unsuccessful
...

How long will those 5 steps take typically?

Yeah I have been having issues with DeCaptcha being very overloaded recently - you really need to do your major work overnight otherwise you will struggle. I think they are working on expanding...

Just did a few quick tests posting to CL in CLBotPro:

average 30 seconds for correct decaptcha.

average 60 seconds for incorrect (then correct) decaptcha

approx 1 in 10 incorrect

Hope this helps...

A quick tip, run your software late at night when decaptcher's load is not too high. That way you will get better captcha accuracy and better speeds. Im waiting 10secs on average per captcha.

where are you guys based in?

I think the suggestion of operating at night needs to take reference from a certain time zone. My time zone is quite near to De-captcha's (or India's)...so should I operate at night or in the day?

Anyway, can i say that de-captcha runs 24hours a day?

Any other similar services that you guys will recommend for solving captchas? Prefer reliable and cheap since i will be going on a long-term basis.

Yes decaptcher does work 24/7. Just create an account there for free and you'll see the current system load. For example when I'm writing this, it's at 1%.

for number captcha, that only content non-twisty letter or number, you can use OCR to solve it. First make the picture gray and change contrast, then OCR it.

For the captcha that from Google, you know what, Google spend 2 million to develop it, how can you decaptcha it within $750
