What a Halloween story. Gave his own celly an sms heartattack that made it give up the ghost. :heh: Harsh.

OP, there is a program that does this but its highly controversial and has stiff legal penalties so beware.
It's called "homies". Get all of them to repeatedly call the target number till it hurts.

I had a program a long time ago that would send free SMS texts from PC.
being the evil person that I was, I sent my friend 10,000 text messages and ruined his phone for a few days
probably would cost a lot to do that now days though.

Something like this also happened to us a few months back. Our 800 number would get 10-20 phone calls a minute and would play some horrible Chinese opera song. We had to change our phone number because the company couldn't stop it. I think we ended up with over 2500 calls in 6-8 hours. I must say it was crippling to us.

Funny how this thread came back to life from 2011 and folks just kept chatting like someone just said something.

Sending SMS is different thing mate. I have done that in my teen age life. SMS Blast is possible but I don't no about calling blast lol.

There is no reason as to why you couldn't DDoS a LAN or Cell phone line.

Let's first break down a DDoS;
1) You have a pipe (the limitations of the server / end point)
2) You have a number of access routes of which to launch the denial of service. (Nodes)
3) You have a simple logic statement (IF TotalNodePower > endPointPower THEN DDoS Successful)

All it takes is to send more calls to the end point phone then it can handle.

A simple amount of calls such as 2 calls generated every 2.5 seconds will easily take down a small to medium business not using call queuing. A more aggressive approach would certainly be possible, generating a single call every half a second would easily screw up a call queue for most medium to large companies. Telco companies with complicated phone systems might be a bit more tricky.

This would only be achievable on a large scale with a sufficient botnet consisting of infected VOIP Servers.

I actually tested this by generating an attack against my own cell number, I won't go into details, however the attack was conclusive, and virtually impossible to defend against, especially if the attack is done in very very quick succession, cellphones become unusable as the user will need to answer or reject the call in order to use their phone. Putting a phone on Do Not Disturb is bypassed by the multiple call rule. Regardless, it would most certainly flood the SIM inbound throughput preventing any real calls getting through.
