Dating Site on Google Page 1

I bought a PR4 domain for $20 back in March, it's a pre-made dating site with "dating" in the url. I've placed a related affiliate ad on the front page. I've spent 10 hours approx building links. Thanks to the tricks I learned from these forums, I was able to secure a PR6 .edu link from Harvard Law School, among others. Backlink checkers show that I've got loads of PR 4 and 5 .edu and .gov links.

Now it's on page 1 twice for my keyword - 3rd position down, and in the local business results!

It's an actual functioning dating site, people have actually signed up to it for real (19 members) But it's not making any money, or even getting any clicks.

My question - how could I use this great google position and monetize the site?

You can sell advertising space .

but if it seriously dose not make money , i suggest you sell it cos any one else would
love to buy it at a very high price , as he wont be aware about the click rates.......

A lot of people are doing website flipping these days .

what is the point of buying it, building links, etc... if you didn't have a plan already laid out on how to monetize it? you should think of how much you could make with it and how you'd make it before doing all the work.

you can try to redirect them to top paying dating sites such as eharmoney or match DOT com see if that converts for you

The plan was that the site would get targetted traffic, and in theory it's getting that now - it's on page 1 for "dating in london", which suggests people looking for dating are being exposed to the affiliate ads. I can't believe how fast it's got to page 1, i've barely worked on it at all, been very lucky with my backlink building.

I just wonder what I could do with it from this point forward to make it work. Any ideas?

does the site have paid membership? try increasing the amount of members with fake profiles, do you have adsense

i have a local dating site that makes reasonable money through recurring membership fees and adsense as opposed to actual affiliates... however i am considering supplying affiliate ads on the backend based on peoples completed profiles...

i used to use phpmatchmaker although a great script support was non existent

since im all about joomla im going to migrate it and its members over to j1.5 add some other third party apps to it and exploit the hell out of it

if your interested in doing the same let me know and ill give you the list of apps i will be using for it, i believe there is only one components that requires payment and it costs $15

Um, my method not only seems to be illegal, just begging for a civil lawsuit, but I also don't want to publicize the technical details of how its done, either. It could easily be blocked or over-used if it were disclosed before I capitalized on this concept.

and the comuna3 template its like a social media site, what ive found is that some people still suffer from a little guilt or the oh my god stigma you use a dating site... using something like this layout you can mix it up a little and possibly make it not look so much like a dating site... either way you can always customize the colors, etc to suit what you need, this is possibly the direction i will start

next you will definitely need a plugin called community builder this will help you put together all the fields for your profiles this is available for free from

it also allows for a reasonably good search system too to add to your site, there are better ones but ive found you have to pay for those...

you will need a user gallery to so go with CB Profile Gallery again found at joomlapolis and free...

next i would add in noixacl - this will allow you different membership levels to the site, so for example if you add in a chat area or even a video chat area or other components to the site you can restrict access to these areas based on membership level - find it at:

this would be my basis of the site however i would add adsense to the front and back, and also would customize the backend to include banner ads based on the users profile, ie create a questionnaire for people to fill in with drop down menus, the answer to these questions will trigger certain banners to display

there is another program called proforma which also allows for different tabs and fields to be shown again for different levels of access which could be useful but am unsure of the support they provide have heard varying reviews from utter crap to great??

to be honest if your familiar with joomla its not that difficult to put all this together, i will probably do a video tutorial for this or even sell the final package for people to simply install...

I also have a dating website within the top 30 of google for "dating", and there are buyers that would pay $120k+ when it is on the first page according to current market prices.

So you can go on Flippa.com and advertise your site there. You can get some good money for it especially how you have edu backlinks and it's localized.

Niceee on the harvard link.I come across harvard links every now and then from following others, but once I get there the page has been cleaned up
