I started a dating site, and I'm trying to reach 200 premium members. Instead of spending months stumbling onto these ideas, what are some common practices by the most successful online marketers on a budget?

I think you have taken the right decision. For dating site SEO is really important to traffic. Because more you get traffic more you earn money from your site, which was happened with my site. Mainly I try to use social media to get traffic. Also content writing is helpful for getting traffic. But moreover when you are going to create a dating site must concern about dating script. Actually i have one dating business that buy from datingscript .net . When did i buy this datingscript from this sites then they are also fix this marketing problem. So i did not face any problem. However, If you want to marketing your dating site then you must be select social media site. It also give you ton of traffic. Thanks
 
Forget ads, use free facebook groups (search for dating related groups and post your links there). Free traffic to get you started!
 
fb group, page, ads should work. Spend couple of hundred dollars on content marketing would also help in the long run.
 
Yes fine a group and spam the s**t out of it. or fine a Facebook fan page of dating site. Twitter is good too
