I'm looking for some feedback regarding data recovery services from BHW members. I have laptop hard drive that I have to recover for a family member. Bugger spins fine but you can see the drive. Thanks!

1. Find on Google hirens boot cd
2. Burn image cd with hirens
3. Set boot order in Bios - to boot from cd
4. Start Mini windows xp or mini Lunux (if you are more familiar with it)
5. Copy all your necessary files from hard drive to flash memory

Thanks, I know all about Hirens and have posted the Ultimate Boot disk solution to BHW as well. I already removed the drive and placed it in a trusted portable enclosure but no, this puppy is fried, that is the electronics. Like I said the disk spins but otherwise no signs of life. It's data recovery time.

Have you checked in computer management just in case it's the partition table that's corrupt?

If it's definitely hardware, it's a send off... Unless you have a clean room.

No luck using Disk Management and seeing the partition, so a clean room is in order. What I am hoping for is some recommendations regarding a service.

Has your laptop recently been the unfortunate recipient of a system failure? Have you bore witness to the infamous & Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)? If so we would posit that perhaps your hard drive is failing and to this end would suggest having it removed and a new one installed. It is not always the case than recovering from a BSOD means the issue has been resolved. plymouthdatarecovery.co.uk
