Dark Mode for Generatepress Blog

I hope to start an affiliate marketing blog using the generatepress theme. I am wondering what is the best method to add a toggle switch at the top of the window to enable Dark Mode for Users.
ie: The Site Visitors should be able to toggle between dark mode and light mode as they prefer.

I am a WordPress noob, therefore go easy on me. Yes, I googled and found few plugins and most of them had a very low number of installations, which made me doubt those plugins. Then I did Search for the forum for the phrase "Dark Mode" and most of the threads were about BHW Dark mode and WhatsApp dark mode!!!

Why do you need a dark mode? I find this very odd.

Anyways, I believe there should be some wp plugins for this but I don't know of any.
 
Why is it odd? When you are visiting a website at night it is much easier if that site has dark mode. Even in BHW, almost everyone uses dark version of the site. Almost all the mobile apps do have a dark mode and more people prefer to use that. I

If anyone has any other opinion, concern, option regarding this please let me know. Things like whether it will affect the site speed or functionality. Or ay other better solution than simply installing a new plugin.

I've almost never seen anything like that on normal blogs. It's good though, it'll be nice if you implement it on yours.

It is better to youse wordpress.org approved plugin. Please check this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/droit-dark-mode/
