I’ve seen many are talking about different MMO methods but no one has mentioned to the benefits of not-having a plan B when it comes to make money online, so I wanted to address it here, since I've found it important, especially if you've just started.

It's clear that making money online is one of the coolest things you can do right now. Seriously, who doesn’t want to ditch the 9-to-5 grind and make cash from anywhere with Wi-Fi? But here’s the deal: having a “Plan B” can totally mess up your chances of making it big. Why? Because when you’ve got a backup plan, you’re not really giving Plan A everything you’ve got. Let’s break down why ditching the whole Plan B mindset can actually be the game-changer you need.

1. Having a Plan B Divides Focus

When trying to build an online income, focus is your best friend. It's so easy to get distracted by the endless opportunities out there-dropshipping, blogging, affiliate marketing, freelancing, selling digital products, starting up a YouTube channel, and more. Add a backup plan into the mix, and suddenly your energy and attention are split between Plan A and Plan B.
Thing is, creating a successful online income stream requires giving it your all. You've got to invest time, energy, and creativity into your big plan if you want it to pay off. But having a Plan B just gives your subconscious mind an out-an excuse that says failure is acceptable. And if it's acceptable, you may not fight as hard as you should when things get really tough.

2. It Creates a "Play It Safe" Mentality

But let's be real, Plan B usually exists to make us feel safe. It's the comfort blanket, a hedge in one's bets. Occasionally playing it too safe leads to the rare occurrence of an extraordinary outcome. If you desire to make serious money online, you need to take risks, try new things, and be okay with uncertainty.
Success stories in the virtual world come forth from people who bet big on their ideas and didn't look back. They didn't have a Plan B to fall back on, so they made sure Plan A worked. They pulled all-nighters, playing with strategies, learning from their mistakes, and just pushing forward when the outlook was beyond grim. That sort of commitment doesn't come from someone who has one foot out the door.

3. Failure is Part of the Process

Here's a little secret: failure is not something to be feared; it's something to be embraced. When you're building an online business or side hustle, you're going to fail. You'll launch products that don't sell, write blog posts no one reads, or create social media content that flops. That's just part of the game.
And if you do have a Plan B, then you're more likely to give up when you encounter those inevitable roadblocks. But when Plan A is the only plan, you're forced to figure it out, learn from failures, adjust, and come back stronger. Real progress happens this way-not by abandoning ship at the first sign of trouble.

4. It's All About Building Momentum

Momentum, in fact, plays a crucial role in all online money-making activities. The more you work on your Plan A, the more skilled you become, the connections you make, and the closer you move towards your goals. This may just be a little difficult to create momentum, probably because your time and energy have been divided into too many different plans.
Think of this like riding a bicycle uphill. Every time you stop, either to rest or because you want to try another way, you never reach the top. But every time you ride in one direction upwards, pedaling and pushing through the hard parts, you reach your destination. To achieve your desired results with Plan A, you have to commit to it fully and unconditionally.

5. Scarcity May Be a Driver of Creativity

Without a Plan B, you're forced to get creative and resourceful. You'll find solutions to problems that you didn't think you could solve. You'll come up with innovative ideas on how to grow your business or attract customers. Necessity truly is the mother of invention, and when you're all-in on Plan A, you find ways to make it work that you wouldn't have considered if you had a safety net.
For example, let's say you're building an online course business and your initial marketing strategy isn't working. Without a Plan B, you might try running TikTok ads, partnering with influencers, or starting a podcast to reach your target audience. Those creative pivots often lead to breakthroughs.

6. You Will Build Resilience and Grit.

Building an online income is not for the faint of heart. It requires resilience, grit, and the ability to keep going even when things aren’t going your way. If you have a Plan B, it’s easy to give up when things get hard. But if Plan A is your only option, you’ll dig deep and find the strength to keep pushing forward.
Resilience and grit are like muscles-the more you use them, the stronger they get. And those traits will serve you well not just in making money online, but in every area of your life.

7. You'll Attract Opportunities

When you're all in with Plan A, people can tell. Your passion, determination, and focus are contagious. You will start to attract opportunity toward your goals because you're putting out the energy of someone who's serious about making it happen.
Whether it's a collaboration offer, a mentor who wants to guide you, or customers who resonate with your story, those opportunities often come to people who are 100% invested in their vision. Having a Plan B dilutes that energy and can make you seem less committed.

8. You Will Learn to Trust Yourself

The most rewarding side of going all in with your online income journey is the confidence and self-trust you build into yourself. When you don't have a Plan B, you're forced to rely on yourself. You learn to make decisions, solve problems, and take calculated risks with great conviction.
That self-trust is priceless. It is what allows one to pivot when it is necessary to do so, to remain calm during difficult times, and to be able to continue moving forward into great uncertainty. And it is something you will carry with you in every respect.

9. Time is Your Most Valuable Asset

Here's the brutal truth: every minute you waste in Plan B is a minute not spent on Plan A. Your time is the most valuable asset you have, and you need to spend it wisely. If you want to make money online, you need to focus on your goals and get rid of anything that is not taking you closer to them. Having a Plan B can be a time suck. It's one more set of tasks, goals, and responsibilities to manage. By cutting it out, you'll free up more time and energy to focus on what really matters, making Plan A work.

10. It's a Mindset Shift

It means that at the end of the day, not having a Plan B is about adopting a certain mindset: a more committed, focused, and self-believing one. That's all it is: you say, "This is what I'm doing, and I'm going to make it work no matter what." That kind of mindset is indeed incredibly powerful. It will drive you to take action, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward until you achieve your goals.

Not having a Plan B might sound a little bit scary, but it's at the same time so freeing. It forces you to go all in on your goals and to take full responsibility for your success. It might be hard, but the rewards are well worth it.

In my opinion, making money online is about more than just the money-it's about freedom, pursuing your passions, and creating a life you love. Ditch the backup plan, double down on Plan A, and go all in. You might just be surprised at what you're capable of when you give it your all.

Totally disagree. Not all things are for everyone. IM might work for some but that doesn't mean you need to get your ego involved and try to prove something here.

I get how a Plan B can split your focus, but it can also be a safety net for some folks. It’s really about finding that sweet spot.

100% agree. Plan B means to compromise on the original goal and have safety take priority over opportunity. It's no good for when you are trying to truly innovate or create extreme value.

I'm fine with having no plan B and doing what it takes to get what I originally wanted. The only ones who make it to the top took risks.

I agree that not all things are for everyone, and that's absolutely okay. But my thread isn’t about ego or trying to prove anything; it’s about focus and commitment. When you have a Plan B, it’s easy to split your energy and effort, which often leads to half-hearted attempts at both options. That lack of full commitment can be the difference between success and giving up too soon.

Making money online (or anything really) isn’t about trying to force yourself into something that’s not a fit. But if you do decide it’s for you, going all-in without a safety net can ignite a drive that’s hard to replicate when there’s a fallback plan in the background. Of course, I’m not saying people should ignore responsibilities or take reckless risks, but sometimes having no Plan B pushes you to make Plan A work, no matter what.

At the end of the day, everyone’s approach is different, and that’s what makes these conversations interesting. Thanks again for chiming in, I value your thoughts! )
