How dangerous is it to use these themes in download folder? I am hesitant to use these themes after I heard that some developers put trackers in their themes and then can hack your site?

P

There is always a possibility, but if it was placed in the code by the developers then their legitimate customers would also be effected. Believe me, as someone who customizes premium themes on a daily basis for clients.....we would know about it. The thing that would worry me more would be the source in which you obtained the theme. I have run across premium themes being given away from third-party websites that was filled with "dirty" css, nasty javascript, and encrypted footers. As long as you fix it (doesn't take more than a few minutes) it should be alright.

I think the themes that are available in BHW is more secure than that nulled by third party websites?

why should they be more secure? :D
there is a wp plugin thats scans for backdoors in wp themes plugins etc. its called wp antivirus.
check it out

I don't know about legit developers compromising anyone's site.. But a theme that has not been properly nulled can contain callback functions. And using said theme could potentially result in a nasty email being received by your hosting company. That's about it tho.

Man, you can use unpaid themes for wordpress as much as you want. I have 3 web sites with unpaid themes and millions of views, so don't worry. In 2 years I never had any problem.
