Dancing in SERP, what is normal?

For one of my KW's I've been sitting at around #35 since I got indexed. Then, I couldn't see it anywhere in the SERP for like a day like it got de-indexed. Then it came back to around #35 for a while, but tonight, it dropped down to #225, and now a few hours later it's at #151.

Thing is, this is according to SERP check here http://www.whatsmyserp.com/serpcheck.php
It has been pretty reliable before, but now it doesn't match the SERP I see. When I search for my KW with cleared cache, via proxy and logged out from google account, it's still around #30-40.

What is going on and is it normal?

Since, I started playing around with SEO. Everytime, I seen some dancing it resulted in a better rank. Then it settles, then you have to work hard to make it dance again, because you got passed all the easy to pass up sites.
 
Looks so much dancing before settling at one spot.. Check whether you're getting backlinks from quality sites. Wait for some more time and see if tis settles or not.
 
The dance is normal and good for your site as it normally gives you better rankings. While dropping, it wouldn't dance, it will just drop....
 
It's pretty normal to me especially when you just finished building backlinks. Just give it some time.
 
If it is a new site and it is rising overall then it's a good sign that you're doing something right ;)
 
It really all depends on your source.

I mean, if you're just using one particular source to check your serps expect some fluctuation.

Expect some difference between being logged in and not logged in.

In many cases, during Google dance, rankings can bounce all over the place.

If I were you, I'd wait a few weeks and see if things have stabilized.

Then and only then would you have enough information to go with.

Right now, things are just volatile for you to make any serious decision on.

If I were you, I'd hold off on making any serious moves as far as my website's content or links are concerned until the dust settles.
 
I almost have the same situations but never really into 200+. I put https on my new blog and my rankings fall so hard, it appears to have a problem with sitemap and robot.txt and already fixed. After that, my keywords serp are stuck on 30 - 50 rankings, difficulty is medium.

Did you put in 301 redirects from http to https?

Yeah I do, the first two days I was using 302 redirect but I think 301 is better. I also updates it on Google Webmasters and Analytics. My site is really stuck right now.
