i was wondering if any one had read the new book by dan brown

his other books were very good especially the da vinci code
offending the church with that book

he certainly knows how to create controversy
the new book is meant to be about the masons
am looking forward to reading it

Looks like an interesting read. I know several masons so we will see if anything is actually factual about this one.
 
I bought it..almost done. Its frustrating trying to read with a toddler and a husband who gets offended when he catches me reading.

Its pretty good. Lots of twists that leave you hanging, until the end i hope! Its driving me nuts.
 
Ive read few of his books. I do like him. Real good novels I would say, but historically so so incorrect :)
 
They are great books...The movies did not do them justice, but IMO movies are far too short for books this long & in depth. Should have had a miniseries instead.
 
Fuck miniseries or movies. You should find the time to read the books. All previous four were fantastic. Angels and deamons I liked more than Davinci's Code.

he does a bit of research. but history itself is mixed up. you never know what really happened. If a good guy looses a war, the winner writes the history books.

Dan Brown is really doing a good job. I know I shouldn't be talking about religion here, but the ultimate thing that people like him and Salman Rushdie are saying is that religion full of false interpretations of the people who have followed the original guru.
 
I've read The Davinci's Code and Angels & Demons, both are great readings.

I just started reading Deception Point since yesterday and this book also looks cool.

Dan Brown is by far one of my favorite writers.

I've read all his books. I enjoyed Angels and Demons the most, but i still don't like his writing style. I think it's very clunky and he sometimes sounds like he's about 10 years old with his references and the way he likes to continually overuse them.

He's a bit like the Michael Bay of books you know? In synopsis his books make a good read, but he ruins it by making some of it completely unfeasible, full of "special effects", along with weak dialogue and characters.
 
You are SO right, Entrepreneur! I really liked his first one "Digital Fortress" , but the very weaknesses you point out almost made decide not to read any more of him. I do like his stuff, but he seems determined to ruin each one. Good thing for him his publishers have an excellent marketing machine in place to pump up his strengths, and downplay his weaknesses.

I agree. I too think he sounds like a 10 yr old.

I knew for a fact that they were going to take a different train other than the blue line and were misguiding the Taxi driver. It reminded of the Hardy Boys and Famous Five books I had read when I was a kid.
 
He writes gud. loved his digital fortress apart from da vinci offcourse.
not read the lost symbol yet.
 
I'd prefer playing Assassin's Creed or watching the "Kingdom Of Heaven" over reading any of his books any day.

Stephany Meyers for adults, in my humble opinion.
 
All his books are are pretty good. Digital fortress and Angels and Demons are probably my favorites.

IMO opinion this last one was the worst yet. It was pretty entertaining but I figured out the "twist" early and it just seemed to fall flat after that.
 
I read his new book, and i did not like it at all. His others are better. I think all his fame and money got to his head.
