My moneysite, got hit real bad by penguin 3. in short, i'm already off the map. page 50+.

It's a legit registered business, we do web design.

Moving forward, should we forsake the domain? start fresh? (I'll probably need to register a new business name)
or is there a recovery to penguin updates?

We've got all sorts of tools & software, if anyone has an idea, sincerely hope you can contribute some tips!

    in a nutshell:
    1. try to remove as much as possible low quality links (deindexed blog networks for example), store those successfully removed in google docs file and send it within a reconsideration request and blame yourself that you hired a bad seo company and necer would such bad bad things again.
    or
    2. check your anchor text density and link velocity and dilute them. get as many quality links as possible with raw links, trash anchors, brand name anchors from as many as possible different plattforms. build those slow. my feeling is: not more links than 1/5 of the amount of unique visitors. if there are no big uv's at the moment generate some fake traffic, while your campaign.

Removing links, now that's hilarious. I wouldn't suggest that but if you want to try to remove links, go ahead.

If you're going to do a reconsideration request, there's no sense trying to dilute down your anchor text at this point.

Go to ahrefs or majestic and get a full idea of the backlink profile of your website. Then, do the same for everyone on the first page of the SERPs for your relevant keywords.

Note what's different about yours and theirs; try to replicate the trends you see with your competitors (over time, not immediately) and stop with whatever clearly isn't working.

If you have nothing invested in your brand you can ditch your domain, but if this is your INC or LLC you probably have too much invested in that. Just stay on main street, keep pushing and file for reconsideration.

I wouldn't get rid of your domain. Go to ahrefs.com and look at your anchor text diversity. 9 out of 10 times, it is mostly exact match anchors. The simple solution is to dilute them, spread them out over 100's of keywords, partial keywords, raw urls and generics. If you have 10,000's of backlinks, that will take a long time. Remember, go after quality, not quantity when diluting.

Another thing, don't ever file for reconsideration. Once you dilute your anchor text, you will start showing back up. Filing for reconsideration, is basically admitting to Google your guilt.
