One of my friends just visited Dubai and his Facebook wall is now just full of updates praising that place. He posted so many good things that I am considering visiting that place soon.

Dubai already has run out of oil. They invested it all on the rapid developments that've taken place. The Shaikh of Abu Dhabi helped them out of recession for which they named Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa instead as a token of gratitude.

Gotta praise the Pathans! There was this one guy who worked for an year (as far as I recall) in the Burj Khalifa and didn't leave the building. They gave him their nationality as an award for his hard work.

No you are wrong. Oil is just 5% of total Dubai's economy..I know, its unbelievable but check this video below. Most of it is from Travel and Oil is just as a backup. And their Gas prices there are very less so they can afford to drive those monsters

dubai = no income tax, no property tax, no capitol gains tax, almost no corporate tax
america = highest corporate tax in the world and also one of the highest capitol gains tax

Most of these cars are just for show and they don't even use them in chases or to arrest people. Not sure about the others but I know the Ferarri is only allowed to be driven by women police.
