I was scanning some ending soonest as I like to see listings with comments to see what people are posting about listings. I stumbled on a listing with Adsense screenshots with 4 comments. Nothing juicy there but I was intrigued that he had 5 months of Adsense screenshots but didn't use the verified Adsense module on Flippa. So this made me pay particularly close attention to his screenshots.

First thing I noticed was the date range seemed extremely dark but that's subjective at best. So I work through his screenshots suspecting something is awry. Then I noticed two screenshots where generated at the exact same time (to the second) but with different date ranges. So I concluded this guy must have one hell of an Internet connection and is the fastest screenshot person I've ever seen. To be able to change date range, download the new page and get a screenshot in less than one second has to be a Guinness World Record.

Just thought I'd share this record setting feat.

He could easily have saved each of the date ranges as separate performance reports - then he only has to make one click to generate the different report.

Well that would be faster but I'm thinking not less than a second to send the request to Google, have Google work the query and return the result. I tried a couple performance reports and the closest I came was 7 seconds difference but my Internet connection is not great.

Maybe the seller works at Google and has an intranet connection?

this can be done may not be in one sec difference i would take few mins but it would be hard to trace it in Photoshop as there is no Photoshop is involved in editing the screen caps

If any one wants to change things in web and show as screenshot let me know i can do it

Well my latent point for the thread was to educated buyers a bit about screenshots and what to look for.

It really wasn't meant to teach scammers how to doctor webpages easily.

lol, thanks for sharing. I often feel like there's something dodgy about Flippa listings, but have never spotted anything like this, well spotted.

    Wow, eagle eye finding that!

I was tracking another website sale there, it was gone from google less than 7 days after it was sold for U$ 15k. I bet the buyer isn't happy.

While it does look a bit suspect...this is a listing on Flippa so I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation.

Its not like flippa would turn a blind eye to false and misrepresented listings turning their marketplace into a joke and devaluing legitimate website sellers.....surely not !

Well I didn't want to dig into other analytics but since you questioned the validity of the property:

When is the last time you saw a website with "10,000 Unique Visitors (3 month avg)" with an Alexa Rank of 18,374,828?

10k Uniques a month = 333 visitors a day. If that number where true then Alexa would be way under 1 million, closer to 100k in my experience.

18M Alexa suggests less than 20 unique visitors a day. My poorest performing site runs 30-50 Uniques a day and it's Alexa is steady in the low 7M range. Alexa in the 18M range means less traffic (about half of my avg 40 uniques a day and 7M). To make revenue claims of $700 a month with monthly traffic in the 500-600 Unique visitors range (at best guess) is nothing short of fraud.

As far as Flippa is concerned they're like talking to a brick wall. Rather than waste energy reporting this nonsense to deaf ears, I'd rather spend a few minutes helping BHW members explaining what to look for before placing bids. I don't have a ton of time to post all the research details I've learned but thought I'd drop some tips from time to time.

Its almost like Flippa was a nice nightclub that used to be popular and everybody wanted to be seen in.

Some kids started dealing drugs in the bathrooms and people complained, but the management turned a blind eye because it was good for business.

Then a few more profile guys got involved in running the bathroom narcotics and introduced some rentable women into the joint.

People complained and discussed among themselves how you would have to be a bit careful in that place now as it was going downhill fast. Again management turned a blind eye as some of the big players liked it that way.

Now they have on their hands a No Go zone. Where the majority of clientele is suspicious. Serious buyers presume that every listing is rigged and serious sellers think they would rather try their chances with a decent broker rather than waste their time trying to get a legitimate sale out of the place.

While this is going on the management are trying to turn the place into a fiverr/DP side show to generate the much needed cash that the core business is no longer making.

Moral of the story ? Bad money always drives out good money.
