I'm not sure about the laws were you live, but in my state in order to get convicted by a speed camera the police need 2 things:
1. A photograph of your license plate
2. A photograph of the driver
Now if you see a camera in advance and there is absolutely nothing you can do. (for example not enough time to slow down, or in an intersection with the red light cameras)
Then..
Pull your sun visor down and move your face closer to it. The camera will not get a clear picture of your face. When you receive your ticket in the mail, you have the option of declaring that you are not the driver and you do not know who is, thus no fine.
Warning very important!
Make absolutely sure before you do this that there are no cars or people nearby that you could potentially hit! Nobody likes getting fines but the safety of others is far more important!!
Other methods
-Spray can reflectors have been tested and do not work.
-Radar detectors do work, however they may not give you ample time to slow down. They are legal in most states.
-Radar jammers do work, but are illegal in almost all places and therefore must be hidden and have a nearby on/off.
-Camera detectors, I personally do not know anything about , but were mentioned a few posts above.
I admit that I may not always go the speed limit, but I have never been in an accident. I always stay very aware of my surroundings and make sure I know my vehicle like the back of my hand.
I am a firm believer that speeding is not the leading cause of accidents. Distracted driving and lack of experience are.
I would much rather be on a road with a people speeding who are aware and know how to drive than on a road with teenagers on their cell phones and elderly people falling alseep while going the limit.
Also the method above is purely for informational purposes only. Practicing this method could be potentially dangerous and unethical.
