Every day, I will write about my personal learning journey with Stoicism. I'll share new techniques, thoughts, exercises, and insights from great philosophers like Marcus Aurelius and Seneca. Stick with me, friends! I’m committed to providing valuable content daily as I explore new ideas and share my experiences with you in a personal way, rather than relying on generated messages.

Day 1 Stoicism:

Seneca Advice,

"Premeditatio Malorum" (The pre-medication of evils)

"Nothing happens to the wise man contrary to his expectations" - Stoic exercise of thinking things could go wrong or be taken away from us. It helps us prepare of life's inevitable setbacks and develop resilience in the face of uncertainty.

"Not everything is as clean and straight forward as we think they may be"
"All the terms of our human lot should be before our eyes"
"Exile.Tourture.war.shipwreck"

Good stuff. Do you have anything more or did you literally just start this journey? And what got you into stoicism? Kinda curious.

Stoicism was my entry into philosophy. Very cool stuff that will lead you to a life of fulfillment.

Thank you for sharing, and good luck on your journey.

While I was visiting BHW, I would never have thought that I would read a post about Stoic philosophy and teachings.

I can say that I survived the most depressive and depressive periods of my life by being introduced to Stoic philosophy and teachings.
It all started when I asked a person in my group of friends, who was the thinker whose ideas you liked the most? The answer I got was Marcus Aurelius.
When I looked at who this man was, his life and lifestyle actually caught my attention rather than his teachings. Any optimistic thinker could have easily said his words, but even though a man who made an empire in Rome in the 3rd century had such great power in his hands;

living healthy
When you wake up in the morning, be grateful for your breathing,
I was enchanted by the fact that it had teachings that could be based on, such as, you should avoid things that will cause you pain rather than seek happiness.

I will follow your post closely.

I'm curious, what do you do in your real life, my friend?

I have more content to share, as a beginner, and I plan to share Stoic techniques, exercises, and thoughts daily in a way that will engage you without boring or overwhelming you. Stick with the flow!

I'm really happy to hear that Stoicism helped you overcome setbacks in your life. I'm a college student working on developing my skills in several areas. I recommend you consider reading the Bhagavad Gita, written by Lord Krishna. I will share more about that later. Stick with me, mate!

Day 2 Stoicism:

Accept Death - Memento Mori ("Remember you must die")

Death is inevitable, fearing it wastes time that could be spent living fully.

Marcus Aurelius - "You could leave life right now. let that determine what you do, say and think"

Seneca - "Let us prepare our mind as if we'd come to very end of life. let us postpone nothing"
