Been playing around with some SEO methods. Managed to pump my srush score all the way up to 600k rank.

The rank doesn't mean much as it's just a vanity score, but goes to show your DA authority count isn't everything.

I don't take it too serious because I get some good traffic with Low DA sites, but to be honest a higher DA makes it easy to sell links on a site.

Fair enough. I'm not in the link selling industry but could imagine it being easier to sell links high high DA

Metrics are useful. You don't pull the trigger based on metrics alone, but it's not like they are garbage.

If you are looking for aged domains, or finding sites to guest post on, and you have a shit ton of domains to filter, then what are you going to do? Looking at each one and making a manual assessment is going to have diminishing returns. You need a starting point and metrics are an excellent place to start.

While not 100% accurate, they're accurate enough for the initial analysis, or in other words 'statistically significant'.

Once you have a smaller list based on metrics, you then deep dive and make your final selection.

This also holds true for keyword difficulty scores, website traffic, or any other type of bulk data analysis.

Its better to look at the link profile manually, you shouldn't trust the metrics alone.
These metrics are still useful as most of the people use them to determine the authority of the website tho

The screenshot is Semrush AS. Of course, MOZ DA is nothing, as Google has own metrics. Also, DA can be easily faked.

We can fake the DA easily these days, but it's just for selling the links or flipping the website, no other real use case.

SEO metrics are a good starting point for most SEO related research & analysis tasks.

They aren't accurate always and can be manipulated easily.

So, not ideal to completely rely on them rather just concentrate on the process.

people should focus less on metrics created by other people and focus on more on what is bringing in the traffic
