I can't seem to get any valid results for the G+ local search as well, seems pretty confusing right now.

In a way, it could be good as this change will prompt businesses to hire someone to handle the transition but at the same time, what worked for GP might not be applicable for this necessarily.

Google local is googles sad attempt at getting more activity on their lame social network. Very annoying.

I have been trying to dig around for more information on this but don't see one glaring detail. Will the local listings still show up on the normal front page spots. 7,3 boxes blah blah. I personally don't see why they would take the local search away from the general google search. However Google has not shown to do things that seem logical as of late.

LOL no more than a few mins passed since I was looking at the local listings in Google Places when they changed my results. The listings are still showing up on the front page but instead of the Google Places link there is now a Google+ Local link. Now to see how to manage them. This should prove fun.
